Sara Thompson is an experienced Research and Innovation professional in the Food and Beverage industry specialized in Nutrition and Health. She joined the Danone group in 1999, and for 15 years her activities were focused in the field of Analytics and Food Safety, and Discovery Research in the area of Fermentation and Bioactive molecules. Since 2013, she has been actively leading strategic partnerships with industry and academia for Danone Research in the area of Nutrition and health, with a focus on Gut Microbiome and Probiotics. She represents the company with regards to multiple stakeholders including investment funds and scientific orientation committees and leads several open innovation projects with start-ups. She holds a PhD in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from Bordeaux University and a BSc in Chemistry from Imperial College and is fluent in French & English.
