Paris-Saclay is an ideal location for innovation thanks to the R&D sites of major international groups and the presence of higher education establishments, including the University of Paris-Saclay, world-class facilities, business incubators and accelerators, and specialized research institutes founded on public-private partnerships.
All those involved in innovation, research, science and economic development have come together one more time to cast a spotlight on the technological innovations and scientific achievements that are made here every day. Accounting for 15% of public research and private R&D undertaken in France, the Paris-Saclay innovation cluster is undoubtedly at the forefront of French innovation.

PARIS-SACLAY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
Created in 2010 under the Greater Paris law, Paris-Saclay Development Authority steers and coordinates the development of the science and technology cluster and promotes the cluster abroad. It is responsible for developing joint development zones and works closely with local government.
Université Paris-Saclay
The Université de Paris-Saclay brings together the formidable scientific potential of its 19 founding members within a large world-class university that is dedicated to research. It offers a comprehensive range of courses which meet the highest international standards, from undergraduate to doctoral degrees and in all scientific fields as well as in humanities and social sciences. It implements a coordinated research strategy in order to respond to the major scientific and socio-economic challenges of our time. The Université de Paris-Saclay is a powerful driver of the region’s industrial development, particularly in the high-tech sector.
PARIS-SACLAY URBAN AREA COMMUNITY
Energizing and supporting the region’s economy constitutes one of the priorities of the Paris-Saclay community. In addition to creating and developing 50 business zones, the urban area community favors the development of projects and facilitates the installation of new companies through its four business incubators and its enterprise council. It also fulfills this duty by carrying out actions that seek to enhance the area’s economic appeal through various events such as Paris-Saclay Connexion.
SAINT-QUENTIN- EN-YVELINES URBAN AREA COMMUNITY
An innovation-focused ecosystem, proximity to major international firms, a concentration of high-potential micro businesses and small and medium enterprises and an outstanding natural environment are just some of the reasons for locating your business in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and in one of its six business clusters, which represent more than 4.5 million square meters of corporate real estate. The urban area community’s business services will be pleased to direct you towards the most suitable cluster.
VERSAILLES GRAND PARC URBAN AREA COMMUNITY
A major economic hub to the west of Paris that offers an international lifestyle and great connections to the center of Ile-de-France thanks to public transport solutions and the highway network, Versailles Grand Parc is an ideal location to develop your business. Numerous business-creation opportunities exist: from incubators for young innovative companies to business areas that cover several hectares for large firms, as well as half a dozen business centers and more than a million square meters of corporate real estate.
PARIS ÎLE-DE-FRANCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY
Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry provides access to business services and to all of the information, structures, assistance or actions that companies require. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry accompanies the economic development of the Essonne and Yvelines départements and it is at the service of companies for all practical matters regarding their area of work and development.
SYSTEMATIC CLUSTER
Embracing open-innovation principles, Systematic Paris-Region, a global competitiveness cluster, brings together and coordinates a cutting-edge ecosystem that has over 800 members. Systematic connects software, digital technology and industry operators, and accelerates digital projects through collaborative innovation, the development of SMEs, networking, and business sourcing in sectors that have a bright future: energy, telecoms, health, transport, information systems, factories of the future, digital cities, and security. The cluster is also tasked with promoting its members, its region and its innovation projects in order to become better known and to develop the region’s appeal.
The actions of Systematic Paris-Region are supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Direccte and the Île-de-France Region, in particular.
IRT SystemX
SystemX is one of the eight Institutes for Technological Research (IRT) that were created by the government to make the region more attractive. Launched in 2012, SystemX, the only Institute for Technological Research dedicated to the digital engineering of future systems, responds to the scientific and technological challenges faced by industry and by the regions through flexible, open and collective innovations.
CEA-Tech
Based in Saclay (Essonne), List is one of CEA Tech’s three Institutes for Technological Research. CEA Tech is the technological research division of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Dedicated to smart digital systems, its role is to carry out cutting-edge technological developments on behalf of industrial partners in order to create value. Every year, its 750 employees support 200 French and foreign firms through applied research projects in four areas: advanced manufacturing, embedded systems, data intelligence and use of radiation in health care.
Finance & Technologie
Since 1999, Finance & Technology (F&T) has been a business association that campaigns for the development of an economy that is innovative, centered on people and geared towards energizing our regions. F&T discovers and provides assistance to entrepreneurs, from drawing up their business plan to raising capital, as well as preparing meetings with investors.
IncubAlliance
IncubAlliance helps entrepreneurs create their technology startup at the heart of the Paris-Saclay cluster. Located in Orsay, IncubAlliance offers customized support and hosting services to ensure startups are launched successfully. Since 2000, it has incubated 404 projects and assisted in the creation of 310 companies, four of which are listed and 95% of which reached their fifth anniversary as of 2019. IncubAlliance, through its partnership with Willa, is committed to supporting 20% of projects managed by women in 2018. The association benefits from financial support from the European Union, the Ministry for Higher Education, the Ile-de-France Region, and Paris-Saclay urban area community
SATT Paris-Saclay
Created under the “Investments for the Future” program, SATT Paris–Saclay is a company that is dedicated to accelerating the transfer of technology; it is based in Orsay and was established on July 16, 2014. Its purpose is to add value to research and to accompany the transfer of technology and know-how from the laboratories of the University of Paris-Saclay to companies. To do so, it favors driving innovation in order to develop the region’s economic strength and employment opportunities. The task of SATT Paris-Saclay is to identify inventions produced by academic laboratories, to secure the protection of intellectual property rights and to ensure that the inventions can ripen until economic value is created through technology transfers or the creation of companies.
Scientipôle Capital
Scientipôle Ile-de-France Capital is a venture capital firm that was established in 2006 as part of the Scientipôle Initiative in order to support young innovative Ile-de-France companies with its own funds. Scientipôle Ile-de-France Capital steps in when a company is first established and requires an initial investment, which can reach 150,000 euros; the firm can make a further investment of up to 500,000 euros. Scientipôle Ile-de-France Capital invests alone or takes part in pools with business angels or seed-capital investors. Scientipôle Ile-de-France Capital has already invested in 21 companies, which represent all areas of innovation.
Vedecom
Launched in February 2014, VEDECOM is an energy transition institute that was created under the French government’s Investments for the Future Program (PIA), which is dedicated to individual, carbon-free and sustainable mobility. Consequently, it is part of the “Autonomous vehicle plan” of the national re-industrialization initiative (known as “Nouvelle France Industrielle”), which has become the “Ecological mobility” solution for future industry. Supported by the competitiveness cluster, Mov’eo since 2010 and by its founders, VEDECOM is a partnership-based foundation of Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. It has almost 40 members, who are grouped around an unprecedented collaborative project that involves industrial firms in the automotive and aeronautics sectors, infrastructure and mobility operators, academic research establishments and local government bodies in Ile-de-France.
